HELP!!!! WE NEED SOME-BODIES
After completing some crucial office scenes, the filming of Tuck Bushman & The Legend of Piddledown is now almost complete. However, we still have one scene we need to film, and for this WE NEED YOUR HELP! That’s right, Chris Lumb, the film’s director, is looking for extras to play the role of local journalists in a press conference scene. Filming will take place at the Pack Horse pub, near Leeds University’s engineering department, on Sunday 26th July, between 17.00 and 19.00. As an added incentive, those of you who come along will be given free entrance to that evening’s Comedy Checkout.
If you are interested in getting involved drop Chris a line at LUMBFILM@HOTMAIL.COM.
SHIP AHOY!!!!
York based rockers The Buccaneers have joined forces with the Discount Comedy Checkout to provide a song for the upcoming film “Tuck Bushman & The Legend of Piddledown Dale”. Johnny Gatenby, the band’s drummer, had this to say on the subject:
“Having met Matt (one of the Comedy Players) through work, and then hearing stories of Tuck Bushman & The Legend of Piddledown Dale, the idea of producing music for such a great comedy creation got us really excited.
Although the comedy genre hasn't really been explored by The Buccaneers, the idea of trying something different was very appealing! Additionally, the idea of movie premiers and champagne receptions would be a pleasant change from cheap cider and dodgy kebabs we currently enjoy! Whether this collaboration opens such doors for The Buccaneers is yet to be seen, but with the quality of writing in the script we are all very excited!!"

FEATURE FILM!
TUCK
BUSHMAN and the LEGEND OF PIDDLEDOWN DALE is the latest film from LUMBFILM
PRODUCTIONS and THE DISCOUNT COMEDY CHECKOUT.
Burnt
out, z-list celebrity animal hunter, Leslie “Tuck” Bushman, is in a bit of a
pickle: his girlfriend has left him, his TV career is floundering like a kipper
in a washing machine, and his dog is dead! However, when strange things start to
happen in Piddledown Dale, Tuck’s agent rings him and offers him the
opportunity to resurrect his career, and possibly his love life – though,
unfortunately, not his dog!
With
the help of upper-class director, Jerry Stains, Tuck sets out to film the
successful capture of the “Creature of Piddledown Dale” and, perhaps, re-ignite
his ailing career. Little does Tuck realise, there is more brewing in Piddledown
Dale than just the tea.
Will
Tuck be able to uncover Piddledown’s dark secret, rescue its inhabitants and
possibly get a bit of action? Stay tuned to find out.
Tuck
Bushman and the Legend of Piddledown Dale is a feature length comedy, written by
Chris Lumb and Matthew Hick, which is taken from an original story by the
Discount Comedy Players. It promises to be a zany, rib-tickling ride of a film
with more oddball characters than a George W. Bush fan club convention!
The
film will be shot in and around the Leeds area, so if you’d like to be
involved in its production the Checkout Players would love to here from you. A
full list of vacancies - both in front of and behind the camera - can be found
by clicking here.
CHRISTMAS PUDDINGS RETURN
After
stuffing their faces over the festive period, the Discount Comedy Players will
be bursting back onto the comedy scene with the January edition of the Discount
Comedy Checkout. As ever there will be a blend of old and new talent and more
than enough laughs to shift even the deepest of winter blues. So if the thought
of an endless winter is getting you down, or if you just want a good chuckle,
then head down to the Packhorse on the 25th January.
